About Bria

Originally hailing from Eugene, Oregon, Bria spent over a decade working around the globe as an international educator before getting her start as a journalist in 2019 reporting at the local newspaper in Telluride, Colorado.

Following her belief in the power of visual storytelling, she made the leap from print to film at UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism and is now fueling her creative vision and passion for stories through the medium of documentary film. Her work includes short films ranging in topics from musicians’ experience with synesthesia, the economic struggles of traditional potters in Rajasthan, India, and ICE abuses at a county jail in California. She’s worked on award-winning feature films (Stripped For Parts: American Journalism on the Brink) and created visual content to fuel the work of non-profits. And as a musician, she loves to make music videos!

Bria is passionate about the power of vérité documentary film, creating trust with those she works with, and working together to create thoughtful, compelling visual stories that reveal the truth of the human experience.
